Apex Legends, Ağustos ayında Switch platformuna desteğini sonlandırıyor.
Respawn announced that Season 29 will be the final season for Apex Legends on the original Nintendo Switch. The game will not be playable on the first-generation console starting on August 4, which is when Season 30 is expected to launch. After that date, players will not be able to purchase or spend any in-game currency. The game will continue to be supported on the Switch 2. The devs said on X that the decision was made as part of their goal to "continue to evolve Apex Legends' content and technical foundation" and "deliver a high quality experience."
They did not provide a specific reason for discontinuing support on the original Switch, but the hardware limitations of the older console are a likely factor. All player progress, purchases, and earnings are tied to their EA accounts and will carry over to the Switch 2. This includes Apex Coins and cosmetics, even if the player purchases the new console after the August 4 deadline. In some regions, local laws require players to use digital currency within 180 days of purchase.
The developers expressed their gratitude to the Nintendo community for their support since the game's launch on the platform.
While Apex Legends is leaving the original Switch, other popular titles are making their way to the Switch 2. Recent reports suggest that remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 are coming to the new console, although a release date has not been announced. Capcom may be waiting for the release of Resident Evil Requiem to share more details about the ports.
