This week, Ubisoft officially presented Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced—a long-awaited remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Based on first impressions, the game feels like a completely new project, with updated graphics and an expanded storyline, and the developers have indeed prepared plenty of surprises for players.

We already know that Black Flag Resynced new content featuring new story arcs for Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, as well as plenty of new features related to Edward Kenway’s pirate ship, the Jackdaw. Not only will you be able to get a pet, such as a cat or a monkey, and unlock new weapons, but also the character’s crew might be expanded with three new characters - Lucy Baldwin, The Padre, and Deadman Smith. It is also expected that we will find out a pre-story of each character.

Yet another change has been noticed by Access The Animus, the map of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will now feature areas that were available only in DLC to the original title - Illustrious Pirates Pack. Players will be able to visit three islands in search of treasures—Black Island, Mystery Island, and Sacrifice Island.

As we know, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will be a fully standalone story dedicated to Edward Kenway, without any DLCs, like Freedom Cry and Aveline Pack, or multiplayer mode. Nevertheless, it looks like the game will feature some elements from downloadable content, at least its cosmetic parts.

The game will be released on July 9 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. A version of Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to be in development and released later on.
