Playground Games, Topluluk Soru-Cevap Etkinliğinde Forza Horizon 6'nın Mekaniklerini Ayrıntılı Olarak Anlatıyor
Playground Games design director Torben Ellert answered a wide range of community questions about Forza Horizon 6 in a Q&A held on the official Forza Discord server, with the game set to launch on May 19.
The session on the Forza Official Discord ran through touge battles, the Festival Playlist, multiplayer, and a handful of mechanics that replace systems from the previous game. As we reported earlier, analyst Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics reported that Forza Horizon 6 has already moved 500,000 pre-orders on Steam, generating roughly $30 million, with projections of around two million copies sold by launch on May 19.
Touge battles are one-on-one events tied to five preset mountain passes around the map. In single player, each route has a specific opponent parked near the start, and these races sit outside festival progression, so players can run them at any time. An online championship will provide a constant rotation of one-on-one battles across the same five routes.
The Festival Playlist unlocks as soon as players earn entry into the Horizon Festival, which Ellert said should take roughly an hour from the start of the campaign. Cars from elapsed Festival Playlists will be made available after the fact, in contrast to Forza Horizon 5's system. That earlier setup, running since the November 2021 Xbox and PC launch, gated weekly cars behind events or challenges that had to be completed within a week or a month, and many cars only returned years later when themed months began repeating in early 2025. Playground added all of Forza Horizon 5's remaining time-limited cars to its in-game store last month, where players can buy them with Forzathon-point vouchers.
For Forza Horizon 6, Ellert mentioned that Festival Playlist cars might rotate into the aftermarket car system. Aftermarket spawn locations are fixed on the map, but not all of them will be active at once, and the studio can add more spawn points later. The set of cars dropped into circulation at any given moment will differ from player to player, and unique Forza Edition cars will remain very rare.
I think the new approach should matter most to PS5 players and anyone who skips the first week after launch, since the previous game punished latecomers with cars that vanished for years at a stretch. The aftermarket route sidesteps the rigid weekly-only window without abandoning the rotating-content model that drove Forza Horizon 5's long tail.
Several smaller items also surfaced. Forzathon Live has been renamed Stunt Party. The level one starter car in the Eliminator mode will be the 1984 Honda City. Legend Island, the section of the map locked until players reach the highest rank within the Horizon Festival, will contain its own Festival Outpost, dedicated events, and the starting point of the Goliath race, which clocks in at 50 miles or 80 kilometres.
Ellert also confirmed that details on the radio stations will be released ahead of launch, though no specific date was given.
I see Playground hedging its bets by keeping rotating content alive while opening more permanent paths to older cars, a shift Forza Horizon 5 only made years into its lifecycle.
Forza Horizon 6 launches May 19 on Xbox Series X/S and PC, with a PlayStation 5 version arriving later this year.
Read also, Forza Horizon 6's system requirements have been published in four tiers — Minimum, Recommended, Extreme, and Extreme RT — with the Minimum spec asking for an Intel i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600, a GTX 1650, RX 6500 XT or Arc A380, 16 GB of RAM, and an SSD on Windows 10 or 11 22H2 or later.
