Larian Studios has added 17 new mods to the console versions of Baldur's Gate 3, including two new classes, a new Cleric subclass, and adjustments to several party member interactions. The drop brings the total of console and Mac-compatible mods to 1,245.

The largest additions are class-based. DragonSoul is a custom hybrid martial-spellcaster class built around dragon worship, with four unique subclasses. Huffman's Magus: A Class of Spell and Steel emphasizes weapon use alongside magic, including the ability to enchant weapons and create shields, and ships with six subclasses. Cleric gains a new option in Poverty Domain, which leans into non-lethal spells, simple weapons, and clothing in place of armor. The mod is positioned as a fit for pacifist runs.

Several mods adjust party members directly. Transform Wyll to Human or Devil adds a spell, unlocked through a ring, that lets the player swap between Wyll's devil and human forms. Missed Connections: Shadowheart resolves an issue where players lose access to some of her final romance cutscenes if a specific conversation has not been triggered. Astarion's Tousled Curls swaps his default hairstyle for a longer one. Gale: More Dead Spider Reactions guarantees that Gale will deliver a line if Tav licks a spider, bypassing the usual constitution check.

The rest of the drop covers gear, encounter changes, and cosmetics. Phalar Aluve: Become Legend introduces two upgrades that scale the weapon with player level. Ingredient Collector hands the player a 36-foot aura that picks up unowned ingredients, plants, and alchemy books. Paladin and Oaths DnD 5R PHB2024 adjusts the Paladin class and subclasses according to the 2024 Player's Handbook. The Tyrant of Flavour Town reskins Gortash as Guy Fieri. Auntie Ethel Always Surrenders prevents her from dying when players engage her. Hag Summon for Spore Druid adds a Hag Fey summon for Circle of the Spores druids. The drop also includes Klara Weapon Earrings, the NAERYS: Incendium fire-themed outfit, a Reclused Witch Set based on the Recluse from Elden Ring, and a Gloomy Hair pack featuring options modeled on Shadowheart's ornament.

The release follows the previous content expansion Larian pushed in January 2026, which reviewed and integrated nearly 70 pieces, opened up the Artificer class, and added automated combat options. I think the cadence since then has slowed, and the May drop is the largest signal in months that the console pipeline is still active.

Larian is open about the disparity. The PC version of Baldur's Gate 3 is currently the seventh most modded game in Nexus Mods' history, with over 16,700 modifications available. Console parity is not realistic in the short term, but the vetting and porting of selected mods continues at a steady pace.

Two other Baldur's Gate 3 storylines run in parallel. HBO has announced a series adaptation of the game, with Craig Mazin, showrunner of The Last of Us, attached as showrunner and executive producer. The project is being developed at Hasbro Entertainment, with Gabriel Marano as head of television. Mazin has spoken about his connection to the source material.

Larian's role in HBO's Baldur's Gate TV adaptation is limited. CEO Swen Vincke has confirmed no writers from the studio are consulting on the series, though Mazin has reached out to arrange a meeting. Larian itself has moved on from the Dungeons & Dragons franchise, with the studio's last work on the game wrapped in 2023.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has matched Baldur's Gate 3's record by winning Game of the Year at all five major ceremonies: Golden Joystick, DICE, GDC, The Game Awards, and the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards. Sandfall Interactive's title is now the only other game to clear that bar. I see the console mod pipeline as the way Larian keeps Baldur's Gate 3 visible as a newer generation of single-player RPGs begins taking the awards Larian's title once swept.

There is no announced timeline for the HBO adaptation. Further console mod drops are expected as Larian continues its vetting cycle.
