Ubisoft is still believed to be working hard on Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe—the next main installment in the series, announced back in 2022. The studio still is not ready to share official details, though, so reliable insider Rogue has been doing so on its behalf by posting various leaks—and this time, it cost him.

Last week, Rogue revealed that Codename Hexe is set for release in June 2027, sharing details on the game's multiple editions, pricing, and even exclusive information about the game’s story and gameplay. And while Ubisoft apparently made no attempt to address the leak back then, this time around, the insider wasn't so lucky. On his X page, he posted a few more images from an early build of Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe—a first look at the main character, Anika, an impressive-looking NPC, and a shot from the game’s closed build. On a separate account, Rogue wrote that his main page had been reported by Ubisoft, resulting in an immediate ban. Fans still managed to grab some images before it went down, which you can check out below alongside Rogue's statement:

As is well known, Codename Hexe is set in the 16th-century Holy Roman Empire. According to the same leak, revealed by Rogue, players can expect a massive map with a linear narrative and a range of locations, including forests, villages, and towns. All magical elements have reportedly been removed, but the game will feature the fear we saw in the Jack the Ripper DLC for Assassin's Creed Syndicate—Anika can use it to intimidate NPCs, who, in turn, will be keeping a close eye on her behavior. Rogue also claimed Codename Hexe will have better graphics than Assassin's Creed Shadows, while parkour and other animations will lean closer to the franchise's older titles. Another rumor suggests Ubisoft might officially give a new look at the game next month at Gamescom 2026.

It’s also worth noting that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, released July 9, hides an Easter egg tied to Codename Hexe —the church found in the game’s Animus files, which Rogue confirms will play an important role in the new title. That could be another sign Ubisoft is preparing to reveal the game soon.

As for Assassin's CreedBlack Flag Resynced itself, it’s still performing strongly. Last week, Ubisoft confirmed the remake has sold 3 million copies across all platforms, and it remains the highest-rated game in the franchise over the past 13 years, according to critics. The game is available now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
