Project Motor Racing 2.1 Güncellemesi: GT3 ve GT4 Yeniden İnşa Edildi, Holden VF Commodore Eklendi
Giants Software and Straight4 Studios have pushed Update 2.1 live for Project Motor Racing, alongside a free DLC pack. The Aussie Rivals Pack adds the 2013 Holden VF Commodore to the AUS V8 class and pairs it with a reworked 2013 Ford Falcon FG, the last generation in which Holden and Ford fought each other with locally built cars, before Holden moved to the imported ZB shell in 2018 and Supercars switched to Camaro and Mustang bodies. That era of V8 Supercars has shown up in Forza Motorsport, iRacing and Grid Autosport but never in Gran Turismo, which gives PS5 owners a reason to look. The larger item is a full rebuild of the GT3 and GT4 handling models, which Straight4 calls one of the biggest changes since launch, with Alpha triple-screen support on PC arriving beside it.
The rebuild was led by new chief creative officer Aristotelis Vasilakos, previously the handling lead at Kunos Simulazioni on Assetto Corsa, and it reaches Balance of Performance, suspension geometry, differentials, gear ratios, inertia, centre of gravity, turbo modelling, aero sensitivity and tyre behaviour, all rebuilt against real-world homologation data. Brake heat now feeds into tyre temperature, brake ducts became a setup option, and naturally aspirated cars got intake ram air simulation. Setups saved before the patch no longer work, so Straight4 shipped new defaults, including low drag presets for Daytona and Brianza. Online picks up Join-in-Progress for Practice and Qualifying in custom lobbies plus ranked start notifications, Logitech Trueforce is now enabled on all platforms, and VR gets another round of fixes with configuration options. Join-in-Progress is rolling out in phases, and both VR and triple screens remain in active development rather than finished states.
"Players have been putting in the laps, giving us the feedback"
— Kevin Boland
Our Project Motor Racing review landed on a game that felt like early access without the label, with rigid AI, penalties that punished the victim of a collision, and gamepad steering too twitchy to trust in the fast classes. Update 2.1 answers part of that: AI behaviour is rebalanced across GT3, GT4, GT60, GT70 and AUS V8, race starts and pit strategy are improved, and Rocky Knoll's track limits are more lenient. I read the notes twice and found nothing that touches gamepad steering sensitivity or penalty logic, which were the two things that made races feel unfair rather than hard, and the console AI grid cap of fifteen cars and the missing radar or spotter go unmentioned as well. I think the handling rebuild is the real test, because a physics pass this deep either fixes the hypercars and prototypes that fought the driver at launch or proves the problem sits somewhere else.
