The information came from GamesBeat, which, citing Sensor Tower, revealed that thanks to the premiere of Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, Netflix’s subscriber count in the U.S. rose by 35% within the first hour of the presentation. Furthermore, it is reported that the streaming service’s traffic exceeded the average by more than 125%—a figure that, while staggering, is not surprising given how long GTA 6 fans have been waiting for a new official look at the game.

Sensor Tower also shared updated information regarding GTA 6 pre-orders—the total is already approaching 5 million copies sold, with nearly 80% of those being for the PlayStation 5 version. However, these are still estimates and not official figures from Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. Previously, analysts confirmed that 90% of GTA 6 pre-orders are for the $100 Ultimate Edition.

It’s likely that with every new reveal of GTA 6, that number will continue to grow. Despite widespread anticipation, some fans weren’t entirely sure about pre-ordering the game now, since they didn’t know exactly what the gameplay would look like or whether the game would look different from how Rockstar had shown it in the trailers.
