Little has been known about the project since then, but there’s a chance that Firesprite will reveal more about Until Dawn 2 next month.

There is active discussion about rumors of a new PlayStation's State of Play presentation—and reliable insider NateTheHate has confirmed that the event is scheduled for September. What's more, it was previously reported that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet—a new IP from Naughty Dog— would be one of the games featured at the show. And while this is still just speculation at this point, Until Dawn 2 may also be involved.

Eventually, the aforementioned NateTheHate suggests this might happen. One X user asked the insider whether we should expect Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet to be featured in the next State of Play, to which he replied as follows:

It’s time to see Intergalactic.

Personally, I want to see Until Dawn 2 more, since that should release before Intergalactic.

This could mean NateTheHate is hinting that Until Dawn 2 will be shown at State of Play in September, given that, according to the insider, its release is scheduled for earlier than Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Firesprite has confirmed that the game will be released in 2027, while Naughty Dog’s new IP still doesn’t have a release date—but according to rumors, it could launch in the second half of that year or in the summer of 2027.

In any case, it’s worth waiting for official confirmation from Sony regarding the State of Play event. As for Until Dawn 2, it’s speculated that the game’s events take place in Asia, and its villain has a heartbreaking story. It’s also reported that the game won’t appeal to people with thalassophobia (a fear of deep bodies of water), and Sony is aiming to make Until Dawn 2 the “most photorealistic” game to date.
