CD Projekt RED, The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past'te Dandelion'ın daha ciddi bir rol üstleneceğine dair ipuçları verdi.

A new DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Songs of the Past, is set to release next year, taking players to Letten, a new region and the homeland of Dandelion, Geralt's best friend. Judging by recent comments from the studio, the expansion isn't just about Dandelion - it will reveal a completely different side of him.

PCGamesN recently sat down with Karolina Kuzia-Rokosz, Creative Vision Director at Fool's Theory, at Gamescom 2026, where she gave a glimpse into the Songs of the Past setting and Dandelion's role in it. According to her, the developers want to keep his signature personality intact while also showing a more serious side of him, since the DLC's central theme is friendship between two men. “Geralt is set on retirement, right? What makes you go out of that comfortable life? It's when your best friend asks you to. We wanted to show them together to expand on the topic of friendship, to say something more about them to that extent. Dandelion is very fascinating.

In the games Dandelion is just a little bit of a goofy guy that works for you. He is still the same person in Songs of the Past, but it's a bit of disenchanting this image. He can be more serious, he can be touched by things, he can feel that he should be responsible.”

Kuzia-Rokosz also mentioned Lilla, Dandelion's cousin, who will act as a kind of guide for Geralt as he explores the new region and digs into Letten's darker secrets. It sounds like there will also be an option for a romance with her.

Given the franchise's massive fanbase, Songs of the Past is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2027 and one that could generate serious revenue for CD Projekt RED. According to a report from DM BOŚ, the expansion could bring in roughly $200 million for the studio within its first 12 months, with release reportedly targeted for Q1 2027. The brokerage's report also notes that figure would be equivalent to nearly 12 million copies sold, driven by both the franchise's popularity and anticipation for the upcoming fourth game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past is confirmed for 2027 on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. As for The Witcher 4, CD Projekt RED recently confirmed a 2028 release. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered also launches this month, on September 29, bringing a range of technical upgrades and being available for free to all owners of the original game.
