Blizzard, Overwatch serisinin mobil öncelikli genişleme paketi olan Overwatch Rush'ı doğruladı.
Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced Overwatch Rush, a new title that marks the franchise’s first dedicated move into the mobile gaming market. Unlike its predecessor, Overwatch Rush abandons the traditional first-person format in favor of a top-down hero shooter designed specifically for touchscreen devices. The game is now preparing for early testing phases.
The announcement raises an important question for longtime fans: can Blizzard successfully adapt Overwatch’s fast-paced, ability-driven gameplay to a new perspective without losing the identity that defines the franchise?
A Standalone Mobile Experience
Overwatch Rush is not a direct port of the PC or console version. Instead, it is a completely standalone title built with a mobile-first approach.
Unlike games such as League of Legends: Wild Rift, which closely replicate their PC counterparts, Overwatch Rush delivers a vertical, top-down experience optimized for smartphones. By moving away from the first-person perspective, Blizzard avoids the user interface congestion that often affects mobile FPS titles.
The project is being developed by a separate Blizzard team with strong mobile expertise. Meanwhile, Team 4 — the core Overwatch development team — remains focused on the live service for PC and console, ensuring both projects receive dedicated attention without competing for resources.
Testing Plans and Release Timeline
Although development is still in its early stages, Blizzard is already preparing for regional testing. An official Discord server has been launched to connect developers with players and gather early feedback.
According to Blizzard, the goal is to expand the Overwatch universe by bringing new adventures to players across multiple platforms.
No official release date has been announced yet. Given the early stage of development, a potential launch window could arrive later in 2026, with a full release possibly expected in 2027, depending on the testing timeline.
