Experience the Magic: PUBG's Fantasy Battle Royale Mode Returns July 2024
Recently, fantasy spins on the battle royale and extraction shooter formats have gained momentum. However, one of the genre's pioneers is not falling behind – PUBG: Battlegrounds is bringing back its Fantasy Battle Royale mode for two weeks, starting on July 24, 2024.
In Fantasy Battle Royale, players abandon modern weaponry and instead choose one of four classic fantasy-inspired classes: Barbarian, Ranger, Wizard, or Paladin. Divided into squads of up to four players, 80 competitors embark on Dragon’s Isle (which is essentially Erangel) to take out their rivals and be the last party standing.
Barbarians are, as you might expect, experts in melee combat, charging into battle half-naked and swinging oversized weapons. The screaming part is optional, depending on the player's commitment to the role.
Rangers are for those who prefer ranged combat, adept at using crossbows to take out their targets from a distance.
Need more firepower? The Wizard can unleash devastating spells, capable of annihilating entire groups. Use magic wisely. Lastly, the Paladin is the heavily armored healer of the group, calling upon divine powers to save their allies.
PUBG players can enjoy this unique role-playing experience on PC from July 24 to August 7, 2024, and on consoles from July 31 to August 14, 2024.
It's a significant year for PUBG: Battlegrounds, with the 2024 roadmap including a switch to Unreal Engine 5.
