This year, Tokyo Game Show will organize its "largest ever" event
In 2023, the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) will return to its traditional venue, Makuhari Messe, using the entire space for the first time in four years. Last year, the event was held in-person but only utilized a portion of the venue due to concerns related to the coronavirus.
The return of TGS to Makuhari Messe has brought excitement and enthusiasm among exhibitors and game enthusiasts who have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity for a real show, as reported by CESA on Tuesday. The high rating given to the exhibition by both exhibitors and visitors reinforces the understanding of the high demand and importance of hosting a physical event under any circumstances.
TGS 2023 will span four days, from Thursday, September 21, to Sunday, September 24, with a dedicated day for business visitors and a day open to the public.
An important change this year is the lifting of the age rating, allowing children up to 12 years old and family members to visit the exhibition areas for the first time since the start of the pandemic. International visitors will also be able to participate due to the lifting of border restrictions imposed last year.
According to the official list of exhibitors, companies such as Bandai Namco, Capcom, HoyoVerse, Koei Tecmo, Konami, Level 5, Xbox, Sega/Atlus, and Square Enix have confirmed their participation in the show.
Kojima Productions will be present in the merchandise zone, according to the exhibitor list, while PlayStation will only be present in the indie zone. Nintendo will hold business meetings at the show but will not have a public zone.
Ticket sales for general admission for residents of Japan will begin at noon on July 8th. Ticket sales for international visitors will start on July 26th.
