OverActive Media has acquired Movistar Riders and has also become the owner of footballer Piqué's organization, KOI
The Canadian corporation OverActive Media, which already owns Toronto Esports and MAD Lions, is in the process of acquiring two Spanish organizations. They're finalizing the purchase of Movistar Riders and the KOI club associated with former footballer Gerard Piqué.
This deal is in its final approval stage. It's anticipated that acquiring Movistar Riders and KOI will boost the company's earnings by $10-12 million.
The CS2 lineup of Movistar Riders will now compete under the brand name Movistar KOI, and the KOI VALORANT team will also enter the franchise league using the same name. Furthermore, the female team of MAD Lions in VALORANT Game Changers will be rebranded as MAD Lions KOI.
The LoL teams will also update their tags. The MAD Lions roster in the LEC, including the female team, will undergo a name change to MAD Lions KOI, while the team in LVP SuperLiga will operate under the name Movistar KOI.
Nonetheless, OverActive Media plans a significant rebranding initiative in 2024, aiming to unite all teams under a single, cohesive identity.
