The Swedish company that develops and publishes games, Embracer Group, announced the acquisition of a number of studios. In particular, Embracer is joined by Tripwire Interactive, and the company also bought the rights to The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

Tripwire Interactive is an American studio known for its Killing Floor and Rising Storm franchises. The developers also worked on Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45. Tripwire's latest game is Maneater, a single-player title that puts you in control of a shark.

Stingtrix are known for their products in the field of vocal instruments, in particular microphones and karaoke machines.

The Tuxedo Labs portfolio consists of one game, Teardown. It's a story-driven single player game in which you'll have to navigate the shortest possible route through world destruction and environments in a Minecraft-like style. The game world is completely destructible, and a fairly realistic physical model is used in the project.

Limited Run Games is an American distributor that releases digital versions of games on physical media. The acquisition of this type of business indicates that Embracer Group plans to strengthen its position in North America.

Embracer Group was founded in 2008 in Sweden. Then the organization was called Nordic Games Publishing, and later THQ Nordic. In total, the Swedish company owns publishers such as THQ Nordic, Koch Media, Saber Interactive, Gearbox Entertainment and others.
