The latest issue of the Japanese magazine Famitsu reports that a classic racing game from 1998 will be incorporated into the game titled "Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name," with a renamed title "Sega Racing Classic 2" to avoid legal complications.

Originally, Daytona USA 2 was planned for release on the Dreamcast, but the project was quietly canceled, and it was replaced by a special version of the original game called Daytona USA 2001.

In the upcoming installment of "Like A Dragon," players can also expect other arcade games to be featured, including Fighting Vipers 2 (which had a port only for Dreamcast in Japan and Europe), Flicky, and Galaxy Force.

In previous entries in the Yakuza series, players already had the opportunity to enjoy classic arcade games from Sega. In the past, they could play titles such as Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone, Virtua Fighter 2, Super Hang-On, and Puyo-Puyo.

In the spin-off series Judgment, players could also enjoy playing Outrun, and its sequel featured a gaming console called the Master System with a variety of games.

After 25 years, Sega is introducing Daytona USA 2 on gaming consoles for the first time.

The parent company Sega Sammy sold off the remaining portion of its arcade business in 2022. Following this deal, Sega Entertainment was renamed Genda GiGO Entertainment, and all Sega arcades in Japan changed their name to "GiGO."

Despite the sale of Sega's entertainment business, the company continues to independently produce and sell arcade machines and is likely to persist in this practice.
