The release of "Outcast: A New Beginning" is scheduled for March and will serve as a continuation of the cult classic release
THQ Nordic and Appeal Studios have announced the release date for the game "Outcast: A New Beginning."
The highly anticipated sequel to the late 90s cult classic RPG will officially debut on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on March 15th, as stated in an announcement on the official THQ Nordic X (formerly Twitter) account.
"Outcast: A New Beginning" was originally introduced as "Outcast 2" back in September 2021, along with the news that the original development team, Appeal Studios, would be involved in its creation.
If you're not familiar with "Outcast," it's a 1999 open-world RPG that gained popularity due to its ambitious open-world design and charmingly awkward controls.
The original game was reissued as "Outcast: Second Contact" in 2017, once again developed by Appeal, with Bigben Interactive handling its publishing.
Subsequently, THQ Nordic acquired the IP, and Appeal expressed their intent to return to the "Outcast" series for this upcoming installment.
"Outcast: A New Beginning" takes players back to the alien planet of Adelpha with the main character, Cutter Slade.
Slade has been "resurrected by the almighty Yods," as the game's description on the Steam page explains, and he embarks on a new adventure to save the planet after discovering its indigenous inhabitants enslaved and its natural resources pillaged.
To explore Adelpha, you'll have access to a jetpack, allowing travel through a limitless world filled with "hidden temples and perilous wildlife," as highlighted by the developers at Appeal.
Players will also be able to navigate the game's storyline "at their own pace," hinting at nonlinear elements in the narrative, providing freedom in how the story unfolds.
"Outcast: A New Beginning" is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on March 15th. Stay tuned for updates in this space for additional information.
