The upcoming fixes were chosen through the EA forums, where players can report and vote on issues that disrupt their games. Since EA began focusing on community-sourced bug tracking in September, forum engagement has surged by 148 percent in views and 903 percent in votes. That data, the company said, directly determined which issues would be prioritized for the November patch.

“This isn’t a one-time effort,” EA’s community post reads. “We’re committed to addressing community-raised issues consistently, and work is already underway on the next batch of fixes planned for December and beyond.”

The top five most-voted bugs highlight both the absurdity and the persistence of The Sims 4’s technical problems. Chief among them is a photo glitch that turned cherished in-game pictures into black rectangles—an issue reported for nearly two years. The “Sabotage” interaction will finally be restricted to Sims with the appropriate traits, and mixologists will stop ignoring drink orders in favor of chatting. Children will now inherit facial features more accurately from their parents, fixing a long-standing genetics issue that often produced mismatched offspring. Another high-ranking complaint, where romantic relationships decayed rapidly after a baby was born, will also be addressed.

Outside the headline fixes, the list delves into smaller but equally frustrating quirks. Sims will stop answering phones while swimming or jogging. Nannies and butlers will resume their duties more reliably, checking for chores every 30 minutes instead of every four hours. NPCs like ranch hands and patients will no longer show up wearing random hats, and nude Sims will finally shed their beanies. Even the humble trash can gets attention—outdoor bins will no longer break, ensuring that waste disposal finally functions as expected.
