GTA 5 Oyuncusu Birden Çok Kez Polis Baskınına Maruz Kaldı, Polisle İyi İlişkiler Kurdu
Ned Luke, the voice actor behind Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online, has been the target of repeated swatting incidents since late 2023. Swatting involves falsely reporting emergencies to law enforcement to provoke a response, often to disrupt online streams. Luke has confirmed at least eight such incidents over the past two years.
During a recent GTA Online livestream with Rob Wiethoff, the voice actor for John Marston in Red Dead Redemption, Luke was swatted again. Police officers entered his home with familiarity, calling out, “You’re being swatted again!” before engaging in a brief conversation. Luke responded to them casually and referred to greeting them as “Merry Christmas to my friends,” reflecting a relationship formed over repeated interactions.
This pattern suggests law enforcement recognizes Luke and his address due to the frequency of incidents. One officer appeared on a first-name basis with him during the December 23 livestream. Luke’s experience demonstrates the unusual intersection between criminal harassment online and local police awareness.
Luke has taken measures against those responsible. In an Instagram post, he shared federal charges and a court summons against a suspected swatter, accompanied by the warning: “F*** around and find out.” He indicated that additional names connected to swatting attempts have been documented.
The actor first publicly noted swatting in November 2023, though he claimed it was at least his sixth incident. Another swatting occurred in December 2023, reinforcing a consistent pattern of harassment. The swatting episodes have occurred during live streams on platforms such as Twitch, sometimes in the presence of other gaming figures.

The repeated incidents have not stopped Luke from streaming. During the most recent swatting, he resumed broadcasting for an hour and a half after police left. The incidents illustrate both the personal risks of public-facing gaming roles and the complexities of online harassment in communities surrounding high-profile titles like GTA 5.
Law enforcement responses in Luke’s case have evolved due to familiarity. Officers entered without weapons drawn and conducted the interaction with relative calm. This approach contrasts with typical responses to swatting reports, where officers treat situations as potentially violent until verified.
The phenomenon highlights ongoing issues within online communities, where personal information can be exploited to provoke armed police responses. Swatting carries severe legal consequences, as seen in the federal case mentioned by Luke, and public awareness continues to grow around the risks faced by streamers.
