Capcom, PC için Monster Hunter Wilds'a Büyük Bir Performans Güncellemesi Yayınladı
Capcom has deployed a significant, Steam-exclusive performance patch for the PC version of Monster Hunter Wilds. The game’s optimization has been a point of contention for players, and this January 28th update, labeled Ver.1.040.03.01, delivers the second chapter in a roadmap for improvements set by the developer in late 2025. This patch addresses unintended FPS drops in the Base Camp and Grand Hub that were tied to unclaimed content, a problem identified by a Reddit user.
The patch notes confirm ongoing work, stating:
"To further improve stability and performance across all platforms, additional improvements will be implemented in the Ver. 1.041 update on February 18."
The main changes in the current update target CPU and GPU load. Shader processing has been reduced to lower CPU usage during gameplay, and texture streaming has been improved to reduce VRAM consumption. The optional High Resolution Texture Pack was reworked to use less VRAM and occupy less storage space. A new CPU tab has been added to the options menu, offering non-graphical settings such as frame skips and the ability to limit the number of smaller creatures, which may help players with less powerful CPUs.

Graphic settings also received additions. The Volumetric Fog setting, a typically demanding feature, now has three lower quality options, and its previous "High" setting is now named "Highest." According to tests, performance has improved noticeably. Eurogamer reports that two demanding locations, the Windward Plains main camp and the Scarlet Forest area, saw frame rate increases of up to 20 FPS on average. On a higher-end PC, these zones now run well above 60 FPS without using Frame Generation, and the game feels more stable with less stuttering overall.
The initial reaction to the game's Steam forums is positive. Players are reporting higher FPS and a smoother experience after the update. Some users have started a push for more positive reviews to change the game's current "Mixed" rating on the platform, although some veteran players remain unimpressed by the adjustments. This update comes as the game has reached 11 million copies sold, though its momentum slowed after a large launch. This patch is the second phase of Capcom's plan to improve the game's technical health. It is a PC-only update, so console players do not need to download it.
Read also, Capcom has released two comparison videos detailing performance improvements coming to Monster Hunter Wilds with its December 2025 major patch. The footage contrasts the current Title Update 3 with the upcoming Title Update 4, which is scheduled to launch on December 16. The focus is on boss encounters, which are among the game’s most demanding scenarios and serve as a practical benchmark for real-world performance.
