As is well known, Capcom is officially working on a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which was announced at Summer Game Fest and now goes simply by the name Resident Evil Veronica. In addition, the studio is continuing development on a story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, and according to a recent report, both projects are scheduled for release in 2027.

Nevertheless, several insiders have previously reported that Capcom is already actively developing the tenth installment of Resident Evil. According to early rumors, the game will introduce a new main heroine named Talia, who is a survivor of a biological incident in a contemporary European city. Additionally, characters such as Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Jill Valentine are expected to appear, with Alex Wesker serving as the main antagonist. The game itself is said to be the darkest and most terrifying entry in the entire franchise. Although none of this has been officially confirmed, insider Marcox, who first revealed details about Resident Evil 10, recently stated in a new report that Capcom is considering setting the game in Japan. This idea of relocating the franchise’s events to the Land of the Rising Sun was also previously mentioned by Masato Kumazawa, the producer of Resident Evil Requiem.

“Korean gaming blogs (Naver) have circulated a leak stating that Capcom is behind the scenes considering adopting an Asian environment (specifically Japan) as the main location for the events of the story of the upcoming Resident Evil 10, as a kind of radical geographical change after decades of focusing on Western and European environments.”

In a subsequent post on X social media, Marcox also mentioned that a secret division within Capcom is already working on concept art and the initial art direction for Resident Evil 10, which could indicate that development is in full swing.

In addition, Capcom is also developing a remake of Resident Evil Zero scheduled for release in 2028. This year, the remake trilogy—Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4— is planned to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2.
