ARC Raiders has received a new live update, bringing the limited-time Forgotten Relics event, the Converging Paths project, and a long-requested adjustment to the game's controversial free loadout system.

The update arrives as Embark Studios continues preparing for larger seasonal releases, with the major Frozen Trail update scheduled for October.

Free Loadouts Disabled in High-Value Map Conditions

The biggest gameplay change in Update 1.33.0 targets free loadouts.

For a limited-time test, players can no longer use free loadouts during Night Raid and Close Scrutinymap conditions. Anyone entering these high-reward scenarios will need to risk their own gear instead of relying on a free kit.

The change addresses a long-standing community complaint that free loadouts removed much of the risk from extraction gameplay, allowing some players to enter matches solely to troll or disrupt others without fear of losing equipment.

Embark confirmed that the feature is currently being tested and could be expanded in future updates based on player feedback.

Forgotten Relics Event Goes Live

The new Forgotten Relics event rewards players with Merits earned through XP gained during expeditions.

Additional Merits can be collected by discovering hidden relics scattered across maps, although players must successfully extract to keep them.

Event rewards include:

• Saltwalker Outfit
• Various cosmetic items
• Progress toward the Converging Paths project

Converging Paths Project Runs Through July 27

Running from June 16 to July 27, the Converging Paths project introduces a multi-stage community challenge focused on recovering relics for a mysterious Display Case.

Players can unlock rewards throughout the event, including:

• Red-Black Saltwalker Outfit variant
• Sextant backpack charm
• ARC premium currency tokens

Major Fixes in Update 1.33.0

The patch also delivers numerous bug fixes and gameplay improvements, including:

Gameplay

• Fixed aiming issues affecting accuracy on certain weapons
• Resolved cases where players could fall through the map
• Fixed expedition damage tracking
• Quest objectives now trigger in the correct order

ARC Enemies

• Rocketeer now drops Launcher Ammo instead of Heavy Ammo
• Firefly no longer drops incendiary grenades without being destroyed
• Queen and Matriarch movement improved on uneven terrain

Audio

• Extraction announcements now play correctly
• Improved Raider Cache audio cues
• Enhanced footstep and movement sounds

UI and Inventory

• Added inventory shortcuts for selling, salvaging, repairing, and recycling
• Fixed weapon upgrade menu issues
• Improved Free Loadout inventory handling
• Fixed health and armor bar visual jitter

Utility

• Knocked-out players no longer prevent Barricade Kits from expanding
• Fixed an issue where Tactical Mk.3 Healing could revive downed players unintentionally
