It has been revealed that an adaptation of another video game developed by Xbox Game Studios in collaboration with Rare is in the works—specifically, Sea of Thieves. The latest report also unveiled the name of the producer, who happens to be a well-known and highly sought-after figure.

Entertainment Weekly has shared an exclusive report revealing that Xbox is developing a film based on the game Sea of Thieves. The producer attached to the project is Destin Daniel Cretton, known for directing Marvel Cinematic Universe films such as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set to premiere at the end of July. The source also confirms that this movie will be part of Xbox's broader strategy to release adaptations of its games—the company plans to launch as many as 12 film adaptations in the future.

As for other adaptations, it is known that a sequel to A Minecraft Movie, which was released last year to great success, is currently in development and its titled - A Minecraft Movie Squared. Additionally, there is an animated series based on the franchise planned for Netflix, as well as a Gears of War film for the same platform, with David Leitch (director of Bullet Train, The Fall Guy, and Atomic Blonde) attached to direct. Furthermore, there are rumors of a Wolfenstein universe series tied to the release of a new game, which has yet to be officially confirmed.

Regarding the film adaptation of Sea of Thieves, no specific details have been revealed so far. However, since the game itself is a multiplayer experience, it's likely that the movie will feature a completely original story set within the game's universe, filled with pirate songs, a lively maritime atmosphere, and thrilling action scenes.
