June was packed—and perhaps even overloaded—with various game presentations, but you can never have too many, right? It's known that the Gamescom 2026 show is scheduled from June 26 to 30, and today's announcement from THQ Nordic has added its own contribution to the excitement.

THQ Nordic announced on their social media channels and official website that they will hold the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase on August 7th, streaming on YouTube, Twitch, and Steam. Confirmed titles include games like Titan Quest II, Wreckfest 2, The Guild - Europa 1410, Fatekeeper, Expeditions: Samurai, The Eternal Life of Goldman, and Way of the Hunter 2. Additionally, the studio is expected to reveal new, unannounced games during the event.

Also, this month saw the release of a remake of the first Gothic game, published by THQ Nordic and developed by Alkimia Interactive. Overall, the game received positive reviews from both the gaming press and players; it was especially praised for its revamped graphics, faithfulness to the original, and well-recreated atmosphere. However, common criticisms include the combat system, which many feel has become simpler and consequently less engaging, as well as some technical issues. As of now, Gothic 1 Remake holds a score of 74 on Metacritic (based on 37 critic reviews) and a Top Critic Average of 73 on OpenCritic, with 58% of critics recommending it.
