Faker, yasadışı kumarla mücadele kampanyasında Güney Kore'nin fahri polis memuru olarak atandı.
Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, the T1 star widely regarded as the greatest League of Legends player of all time, has been appointed an honorary police officer by the South Korean National Police Agency. The role is part of a new campaign aimed at combating illegal online gambling and raising awareness of cybercrime among young people.
The appointment was announced during a ceremony at the National Police Agency headquarters in Seoul's Seodaemun District, where Faker was also introduced as a public ambassador for cybercrime prevention.
As part of the initiative, Faker will participate in promotional videos and awareness campaigns encouraging the public to report illegal online gambling. South Korean authorities hope his popularity will help educate younger audiences about the risks associated with unlawful betting platforms and other forms of cybercrime.
Commenting on the appointment, Faker said it was a great honor to serve as an honorary police officer and public ambassador, adding that he feels a strong sense of responsibility in taking on the role.
The recognition adds to Faker's growing list of national honors. Earlier this year, he received the Blue Dragon Medal, South Korea's highest distinction for sporting achievement, recognizing his contribution to esports and the country's international sporting reputation.
