Aktif Görev Harita Havuzunda Overpass'ın Yerini Cache Alacak
Valve has officially confirmed a major change to Counter-Strike 2's official map pool: Cache will replace Overpass as Season 5 of Premier begins. Premier Season Four will end on July 6, and with the launch of Season Five, Active Duty will undergo a major rotation — Overpass is leaving the pool, and Cache is taking its place.
Cache returns to the active map pool after a seven-year hiatus, having been removed in 2019 in favor of Vertigo before a remake by map creator Shawn "FMPONE" Snelling was revealed in 2025. The community favorite was then bought by Valve after the release of the remake, with Valve eventually officially releasing it in CS2 in April of this year.
The updated Active Duty pool will look like this: Dust2, Mirage, Inferno, Nuke, Ancient, Anubis, and Cache.
Overpass, which only lasted a year in the active map pool, was played 13 times at the IEM Cologne Major across Stage 3 and playoffs — tied for fourth place alongside Nuke.
The announcement comes just a day after the conclusion of the IEM Cologne 2026 Major, where Falcons lifted the trophy, earning NiKo his first Major title. Valve decided to announce the changes right after the Major to give teams plenty of runway to properly practice Cache ahead of tournament play — a notable shift from previous seasons, when map pool changes were often announced just a week before the update.
The first tier-one event after Cache's introduction will be BLAST Bounty, scheduled for July 21.
Premier players should hurry, too: to earn the Season Four medal, you need 25 wins and a visible CSR by the time the season concludes.
