WWE 2K25 Yaması, Evren Modunun En Aptalca Hatasını Düzeltiyor
WWE 2K25 Patch 1.09 Is Here, and It Finally Kills the Count Out Curse.
If you've been grinding through Universe Mode in WWE 2K25 only to get smacked by some ridiculous count-out in a No DQ match, your pain might finally be over. Patch 1.09 just dropped—and it’s short, sweet, and actually useful.
"Addressed reported concerns about count out being enabled in match types where it shouldn't be within Universe." — WWE 2K25 Patch Notes 1.09
That’s it. That’s the big one. Sure, they also threw in the usual “stability and performance improvements,” but let’s be honest—that count-out glitch was driving people nuts. Imagine planning a Payback main event with no rules, only for the ref to go full Boy Scout and start counting out Roman Reigns because he rolled under the ropes for ten seconds. It was a mess.

DLC Is Coming: NXT Stars and a Surprise Guest
This patch also drops right before a pretty big wave of content hits the game. The New Wave Pack, first in a series of five DLCs, lands May 15. It’s focused on rising talent and includes:
- Giulia – one of the top NXT prospects from Japan
- Stephanie Vaquer – making her 2K debut
- Motor City Machine Guns – TNA/Impact legends finally in the mix
- A mystery celebrity – Rumors point to either KSI or Travis Scott
This is one of those rare times when the roster update actually adds real value. WWE’s women's division especially has been asking for more depth in the games, and Giulia and Vaquer are killer additions
A Bug That Made No Sense (Especially in Backstage Brawls)
The reason this patch matters so much is that the count-out glitch was so weirdly broken. It wasn’t just affecting regular 1v1 matches. It hit all kinds of match types—Falls Count Anywhere, Extreme Rules, even Backstage Brawls. Let that sink in: Backstage Brawls, which literally don’t have a ring.
"Referees were issuing count-outs in match types where players are supposed to roam freely."
People were getting counted out while brawling in the Performance Center parking lot. That’s like getting called for traveling in a boxing match. Total nonsense. So yeah, even though Patch 1.09 is only a couple of lines long, it fixes something that was genuinely breaking immersion.
Island in WWE 2K25
Island is the big new gimmick 2K rolled out this year, and while they didn’t overhype it before launch, it’s easily one of the most interesting additions.
Think of Island as a crossover between GM Mode, Universe Mode, and a bit of MyRise. You’re managing a cast of superstars on your own private “brand,” booking wild matches in custom arenas across exotic locations. It’s got creative freedom, but also structure—kinda like MyFaction without the gacha hell or the NBA 2K grind.
You get weekly objectives, unlock cosmetics, and can mix up rosters with legends, current stars, and even created wrestlers. It’s a sandbox, sure—but with just enough carrots to keep you playing.
The island hasn’t had major bug issues (yet), but players are hoping future patches give it deeper customization. The count-out bug didn’t affect Island the way it did Universe Mode, but let’s not jinx it.

The Best WWE Characters in Games and TV, Ranked
WWE has always had larger-than-life characters, both in the ring and on screen. Some translate perfectly into games. Others become memes. Either way, here’s a quick list of the best WWE characters, based on their prime years and how well they played in games and shows.
Character | Year of Prime | Score |
The Undertaker | 1998–2009 | 100 |
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin | 1997–2001 | 97 |
John Cena | 2006–2014 | 96 |
Roman Reigns | 2020–2024 | 94 |
Sasha Banks | 2015–2021 | 91 |
Rey Mysterio | 2002–2010 | 90 |
Triple H | 2000–2006 | 89 |
You can make a strong case for The Rock or CM Punk, too, but in terms of consistency and how fun they were to play as, these seven hit that sweet spot between in-ring greatness and video game dominance.

A Small Patch That Actually Matters
This isn’t the kind of update that’ll change how WWE 2K25 looks or even how it runs—but it does change how playable it is. Universe Mode is where a lot of hardcore players spend their time. It’s the closest thing to fantasy booking, and when something that core breaks, the whole mode suffers.
Patch 1.09 brings it back from the edge. It’s not flashy, but it’s functional. And with the Island mode still holding up well, plus a solid DLC schedule on the horizon, WWE 2K25 might finally be settling into its groove.
Now we just need to talk about fixing entrance glitches, and maybe, just maybe, ref AI in tag matches. But that’s another post.
