Merge Tactics in Clash Royale is receiving one of its biggest updates yet with the launch of Season 7. The new season begins on February 23 and runs until April 13, 2026.

This update extends the season duration, introduces Party play with friends, adds a brand-new Ruler, brings Equipment Modifiers to the mode for the first time, and delivers new troops and trait synergies.

Here’s everything included in the Season 7 update.

Longer Season Format

Starting with Season 7, Merge Tactics seasons will now last six to seven weeks. The extended format gives players more time to:

• Climb leagues
• Collect Ruler Cards
• Compete for leaderboard rankings

As a result, the next season will begin in April rather than March.

Party Mode: Play With Friends

Season 7 introduces Party functionality to Merge Tactics. Players can now invite friends to join a Party and queue together. The Party host manages invitations and can remove players if necessary.

Party of Two

When playing in a two-player Party:

• Both players can earn Starsteel and battle rewards.
• Opponent visibility is hidden to maintain competitive integrity.
• Starsteel gains or losses depend on each player’s league and Starsteel difference.

If one player performs well and the other does poorly, certain placements may cancel out Starsteel gains.

Starsteel outcomes for Parties of Two:

• 1st & 2nd – Both gain 1st-place Starsteel
• 1st & 3rd – No change (cancels out)
• 1st & 4th – 1st gains nothing, 4th loses Starsteel
• 2nd & 3rd – No change
• 2nd & 4th – 2nd gains nothing, 4th loses Starsteel
• 3rd & 4th – Both lose Starsteel

Daily rewards are still determined individually based on placement.

Parties of Three or Four

Groups of three or four function as Friendly Battles. These matches do not grant Starsteel or battle rewards.

New Ruler: Dagger Duchess

Season 7 introduces a new Ruler: Dagger Duchess.

Her ability, Dagger Donation, provides Dagger Equipment at the start of battle. Players can drag the Dagger onto any troop to grant:

• Increased attack range
• Faster hit speed

The Dagger acts as Equipment and follows durability rules like other modifiers.

Dagger Duchess has her own Ruler Reward Track on Starsteel Road. By collecting her Ruler Cards, players can unlock exclusive cosmetics:

• Disguised Duchess
• Daring Daggers
• Duchess of Hearts

The Crystalline Duchess skin and Crystalized Conquest confetti are available in the Ruler Skin Shop. Purchasing the skin immediately unlocks Dagger Duchess.

Additionally:

• Goblin Queen receives the Serpentine Queen skin and Slithering Siege confetti.
• Spirit Empress remains available on Starsteel Road.

New Troops

Season 7 introduces two new 3-Elixir troops:

Giant (3 Elixir)

• Traits: Titan, Superstar
• Ability: Throws the nearest enemy every few seconds, dealing damage based on the target’s maximum HP.

Goblin Demolisher (3 Elixir)

• Traits: Goblin, Warrior
• Ability: Rushes toward the lowest-HP enemy and detonates when below 50% HP, dealing area damage.

New Traits and Synergies

Season 7 adds new trait mechanics and bonuses:

Dragon

• Dragons deal bonus damage to melee troops and take reduced damage from them.
• 2 Troops: -50% damage taken, +50% damage dealt.

Hinder

• 40% chance per hit to slow enemy attack and movement speed for 3 seconds.
• 2 Troops: -30% hit and movement speed.

Marksman

• +1 range and bonus damage to enemies 4+ tiles away.
• 2 Troops: +30% damage
• 4 Troops: +60% damage

Tank

• Rapid healing when below 50% HP.
• 2 Troops: +40% max HP
• 4 Troops: +80% max HP

Warrior

• Gains bonus damage and hit speed 8 seconds after battle begins.
• 2 Troops: +30% damage and hit speed
• 4 Troops: +60% damage and hit speed

Trait Adjustments

• Giants are now classified as Titans.
• Fire and Titan traits now grant unique effects to individual troops.

Fire

• Wizard gains stacking bonus damage (up to 6x).
• Baby Dragon and nearby allies gain bonus hit and movement speed.

Titan

• Giant and nearby troops take reduced damage.
• Royal Giant and nearby troops deal bonus damage.

Equipment Modifiers (New Feature)

Equipment Modifiers are now introduced through Starsteel Road.

At the start of each battle, one Equipment item appears under the bench. During the preparation phase, it can be assigned to a troop.

Key rules:

• Each Equipment has durability and breaks after a set number of uses.
• A troop can carry only one Equipment at a time.
• Equipment can be reassigned during preparation.

Available Equipment

• Valkyrie’s Axe (Bronze III) – Deals area damage for 5 hits
• Fisherman’s Hook (Silver II) – Pulls the farthest enemy within 4 tiles (1 use)
• Prince’s Lance (Gold II) – Knocks enemies back 2 tiles (3 uses)
• Maiden’s Shield (Gold III) – Grants immunity to damage for 5 hits
