Pearl Abyss, Crimson Desert'in Zayıf Hikayesine Değindi

One of the biggest weaknesses of Crimson Desert, which was released last week, turned out to be the storyline. During the marketing campaign, Pearl Abyss teased that we were in for a dramatic and epic adventure, but in reality, it turned out to be much more boring and clichéd.

As we know, thanks to anonymous studio employees, the plot of Crimson Desert has suffered during the game’s production as it was practically rewritten. According to the original plan, Crimson Desert was the story about a young king who was betrayed by the prime minister and became the next ruler of Pywel. It was a political thriller where the players were about to give their throne back. However, in the latest interview, the CEO of Pearl Abyss, Heo Jin-young, has revealed why the story of Crimson Desert has become a disappointment.

During the recent meeting with investors, Jin-young explained that Pearl Abyss has decided to focus on gameplay rather than storyline, as it was the studio’s priority during the development. You can check out the highlights from Heo Jin-young's interview below:

“We do agree to some extent with the disappointment users feel about the story. We also wish we could have done it better. The team tried to fill in the lacking parts within the remaining time, but ultimately we focused on strengthening the gameplay, which is our core strength.”

The reaction of some gamers is hilarious after Jin-young’s words about focusing on gameplay of Crimson Desert. The reason is the gameplay, according to many players, is disappointing as well. Developers did a great job with the combat system and size of the open world. The game received a lot of negative feedback about the mount system— so much so that some players accused the developers of blatant lies.
