S.T.A.L.K.A.R. 2 Yönetmeni Oyunun Sadece Eğlenceden Çok Daha Fazlası Olduğunu Açıkladı

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, released by GSC Game World back in 2024, has a long history of development. Initially, the game was set to release much earlier, but due to funding issues and numerous personnel changes within the studio, the release was postponed indefinitely. In 2018, GSC Game World presented a first teaser of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, and after a few delays and the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by russia in 2022, which also influenced the development, the game was finally released on November 20, 2024.

As we know, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl will get a new DLC this summer – Cost of Hope, announced at Xbox Partner Preview last month. Recently, GSC Game Studio also released a new update for the game titled Sealed Truth, which only aimed at fixing bugs but also serves as a bridge between the game and the upcoming expansion, introducing a new quest chain centered around the mysterious X-18 lab. During the latest BAFTA Games Awards 2026, the results of which you can check out here, Insider Gaming spoke to the CEO of GSC Game World and side game director of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, Ievgen Grygorovych, who commented on the game's nomination for the Beyond Entertainment award, giving a rather serious response:

“In our part of the world, this game is closely connected to our war. We, as a team, are also part of everything that’s going on. For us, this project is one million times beyond entertainment. It’s a really important way to send a message to the world.”

At the same time, the creative director at GSC Game World, Maria Grygorovych, has addressed how S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl made an impact on Ukrainian culture, and you can check out her words below:

“We already won our goal, because one of the most important goals was to give to the player an opportunity to love Ukrainian culture.

We truly believe that Ukrainian culture deserves to be loved. When we saw that people around the world, around the globe are listening to Ukrainian music or starting to get interested in Ukrainian language, or literature, or the philosophy behind the game, it already proves that we did something important, at least for us and for our internal goals to make art.”

The upcoming DLC for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, Cost of Hope, will release this summer on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The exact release date is still unknown.
