The remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, titled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, remains one of the most anticipated video games of 2026. Ubisoft’s latest installment is set to release this July on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, and we could potentially see early reviews about Black Flag Resynced very soon.

According to IGN Australia, the embargo on reviews of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will lift next week, on May 21. The game division accidentally revealed this date on their Instagram, but Ubisoft Singapore—the studio developing the game—also took note of it. Below you can check out the report from Reddit user ZamnBoii about the upcoming Black Flag Resynced preview:

"AC Black Flag Resynced preview embargo lifts on 22nd May 12PM EST

  • Many creators/journalists have been going hands on with the game throughout May but no one was allowed to give the embargo date
  • IGN Australia has accidentally leaked it on their Instagram story

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Embargo Reportedly Lifts Next Week 1

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is the latest title from Ubisoft that will have crucial differences compared to the original game, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, that came out in 2013. It will use the new engine, Anvil, expand the story, and add some new characters and features. Besides Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft is also developing, at least, two new Assassin’s Creed titles:

  • Codename Hexe – set in the 16th-century Holy Roman Empire, reportedly featuring new protagonist Anika, who is the descendant of Claudia Auditore, Ezio’s sister. By the way, iconic Assassin’s Creed characters is also set to appear in the game. Release date is rumored for summer 2027.
  • Codename Invictus – multiplayer Assassin’s Creed title, developed by the same team, who worked on a For Honor. Recently, the first image was leaked, as well as the details revealed by Tom Henderson that Invictus is a knockout-round-based title, where familiar characters from game series fighting with each other on different areas from games’ lore. Release date is still unknown.
