Sony'nin stüdyolarının tek oyunculu oyunlarının geliştirme hızından memnun olmadığı bildiriliyor.
It is well known that for the next few years, if not longer, Sony will focus on developing its future single-player games exclusively for PlayStation consoles. Representatives from the company recently officially confirmed plans to stop releasing their exclusive titles on PC, following earlier reports that first emerged back in March of this year.
In turn, there is growing dissatisfaction within Sony regarding the development practices of its internal studios. Specifically, in response to a user on Bluesky questioning why Naughty Dog spends over five years and $300 million to develop a single-player project yet remains reluctant to invest in long-term multiplayer support, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier noted that Sony is clearly facing challenges in this area. For context, this pertains to Destiny 2 and recent reports indicating that live support for the title is being wound down, a move expected to coincide with significant layoffs at Bungie.

“Company that has no issue letting Naughty Dog spend 5+ years and $300 million on a single player title now concerned about spending money on a new MMO shooter with a built in fanbase, just fantastic
Oh they definitely have an issue with that”
Some time later, Schreier provided a more detailed comment on the matter via the ResetEra forums. He clarified that he was not referring specifically to Naughty Dog, but rather to the situation as a whole, as Sony frequently deals with issues regarding inflated budgets and the resulting prolonged development cycles. His exact quote you can check out below:
“In what world could this be read as Sony "having an issue with Naughty Dog specifically" when the entire premise is someone asking why Sony *only has an issue with Bungie* and my response is saying that's not the case?
The whole point of this response is that Sony, like other game companies, has an issue with swelling budgets and timelines wherever they might be.”
As for Naughty Dog, the studio is actively working on its new IP titled Integalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The game was announced back in 2024, but it still does not have a release date. According to the latest rumors, it will be released in 2027 on PlayStation 5 and will become available on PlayStation 6 a couple of years later. The game also promises to be Naughty Dog's largest project to date, exceeding The Last of Us: Part II by approximately two times, and will include RPG elements.
