Silent Hill: Townfall, optimizasyon sorunları nedeniyle şimdiden eleştiriliyor: Oyuncular, yüksek performanslı bilgisayarlarda bile takılmalar yaşandığını bildiriyor.
Silent Hill: Townfall hasn't even fully launched yet, and players are already complaining about the game's technical state. Early access for Deluxe Edition owners opened on September 22, and while the first Steam reviews praise the atmosphere, many players report microstutters, frame drops, and poor optimization.
Silent Hill: Townfall currently holds a "Mostly Positive" rating on Steam, with around 70% positive reviews. Most of the negative ones are about performance. Players complain about constant microstutters and so-called traversal stutter, which is hitching when moving between areas.

One review stands out in particular, from a player with one of the most powerful setups on the market: an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, an RTX 4090 graphics card, and 62 GB of RAM. Even on this PC, the problems were serious enough that he decided to refund the game. At the same time, he admitted that the game's atmosphere really works:
I hate giving bad reviews over performance, but despite trying everything, UE5 won this round. The constant microstutters and traversal stutter are a total dealbreaker for me. Games are too expensive nowadays to excuse poor optimization. It's a shame, because atmosphere is actually great, but I'm refunding it.
The complaints aren't limited to PC. PS5 owners are also reporting frame rate drops, and on PS5 Pro, according to well-known outlets, FPS falls to around 42 frames in the most demanding scenes. The situation is even worse on Steam Deck, where the frame rate drops below 20 at certain moments.
Players are already comparing the situation to the launch of Silent Hill f in September 2025, which also ran on Unreal Engine 5 and was also criticized for stuttering.

That said, players mostly praise the game itself. Reviews highlight the oppressive atmosphere, sound design, stealth, and new mechanics, so the main question now is whether Konami will manage to fix the technical issues with patches. Critics have also rated the game highly, with average scores around 8/10 across various outlets.
Silent Hill: Townfall is developed by Screen Burn and published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive. For everyone else, the game becomes available on September 24 on PC and PS5.
